The Lesan River Protection Forest is a forest area of 11 thousand hectares, is a representing Borneo tropical forests features, rich in biodiversity and exiting to explore and enjoyed.
Home of 200 flora species, 52 species of mammals, including Bornean orangutan (Pongo pygmaeous), 180 species of birds and 30 species of reptiles and amphibians.
Due to its intact forest and high biodiversity, since 2017, Yayasan Operasi Wallacea Terpadu (OWT) with support from TFCA Kalimantan has facilitated the development of the forest as an international ecotourism destination, which is managed by Village and operated by Village Business Unit or Bumkam/Bumdes.
